FAV LUX 鹿児島天文館

The room was truly exceptional, possibly one of the best experiences I've had. The sauna inside the room was a particular highlight, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I stayed alone, primarily drawn by the appeal of having a private sauna, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. However, I wasn't aware that there was a water dispenser available, which led me to purchase water unnecessarily. It would be great if this information was communicated more clearly. I did not use the restaurant services or the private sauna, so I cannot comment on those. The staff interactions were satisfactory overall. In summary, my experience at FAV LUX Kagoshima Tenmonkan was overwhelmingly positive, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a rejuvenating and luxurious stay.

Best hotel I stayed at during my trip. I was by myself and the hotel was like a tiny apartment with a fantastic view of the mountain. Luxurious if you will. Had a kitchenette and a washer dryer combo and a tub with a nice view. Highly recommend if you’re in Kagoshima

When staying here, keep in mind that this is not a typical hotel. Room cleaning is only provided for stays of more than 3 nights. For shorter stays, they only replace used towels and collect the rubbish each day. The room itself is very spacious and well designed. It comes with a small kitchen and even a washing machine, which is very convenient. I highly recommend booking the king bed room, as it is a corner room with a terrific view of Sakurajima, the iconic volcano of Kagoshima. The hotel also has a restaurant on the top floor, and room service is available even though the room is not cleaned daily. Overall, it is a comfortable stay, especially if you value space, views, and apartment style amenities. It is also in close walking proximity to the famous white bear shaved ice cafe that everyone has to try in Kagoshima.

Hotel accepts luggage delivery (luggage forwarding). We came from sister hotel Fav Lux Nagasaki and we were surprised when the hotel reception there said that Fav Lux Kagoshinma Tenmonkan can accept luggage delivery and we did just that. Rooms were new and clean, and good sized to lay open large suitcases. Would be lovely if they could provide simple tea and coffee at their free amenities area. Thankful to get the bunk bed room on level 10 with view of the volcano Sakurajima in our room and bath

The biggest highlight is the spacious wet-dry separated bathroom—its dry area features a double vanity design, which is rarely seen in Japan. What’s more, the shower room has a large bathtub with a city view. This is truly the most spacious and comfortable hotel I’ve ever stayed in Japan! The front desk miss is super welcoming and sweet,and the housekeeping staff who brings fresh towels and collects trash is also very friendly. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the Tenmonkan commercial district. Shopping, dining, and public transportation are all within walking distance, making it extremely convenient. This stay completely exceeded my expectations! It would be the first and only choice if visiting Kagoshima again !
