Staying at a local capsule hotel I went to this local sento and was taken back 25 years to a local bath in Tokyo when a language student. This place is rough and basic in all the best ways. Like finding a pub untouched by time. Tiny, with wooden lockers and a single charming obaasan attendant. Bathers were determined and tacitern, the water hot (of course), and atmosphere relaxing. It's not a spa - it's a sento. In a few years places like this that ooze Showa, Heisei, and even a little of the Edo period might be gone.

Super nice onsen! I really liked the look, the price is quite cheap too (550 to enter, 10 for a rental towel etc.). If I had more time, I'd come back again

Good place to experience Onsen in center of Fukuoka. Small and traditional public bath. Didn’t know how to use the blower and someone helped me. To the person who shared 30¥ for the blower, thank you.

How can this place have a high rate? I don’t get it. It is BY FAR the worst sento I have ever been to. I am shocked this is open and that people use it. It is cover in mold absolutely everywhere, dirty, old… I found it disgusting.

A very old fashioned bath house in a very cute neighborhood of fukuoka. Some commenters have said that the bath house is too old, but I think that is not true. It has the charm of the 1960s. If you are a traveler visiting fukuoka, they welcome you with open arms. It is very small, but just right for a quick soak. I would say that I was a little bit disappointed that there was no cold water bath. Friendly staff. Nostalgic vibe. I'm not sure if Japanese guests are allowed in with tattoos, but my partner who has armed tattoos was able to get in after we asked the staff politely if it was okay. They don't speak english, of course, but I spoke Japanese with them. I guess you could use Google translate if you have tattoos and want to take a bath there. Otherwise, most other bath houses in Fukuoka are okay with tattooed guests. The "legend" that Japan doesn't accept people with tattoos is not true for Public Baths. In Hot Springs you cannot have tattoos. I lived in Japan for 11 years, and my partner, who I mentioned his tattooed, rarely has been turned away as long as we asked politely.
