薬師温泉

This is one of the few public bathhouses in Kagoshima that has been renovated. The front desk feels more like a café stand, offering homemade cola and coffee. Meanwhile, the bathing area intentionally keeps its retro atmosphere. The hot water is nice and hot, and the cold bath feels amazing. When I visited, there were guests from China, and overall it feels like a place that’s welcoming and easy for foreigners to use.

The staff here are very professional, kind and lovely that’s why I keep coming back. It’s also clean and well-maintained.

Hotspring water is super hot which u cant soak yourself for more than 1 min.

Despite its stylish exterior, this hot spring has a long history. It was first established in 1919, and has just gotten a renovation last year. It is a local onsen that includes a jet bath, jacuzzi, electric bath, and sauna. The new tiles give it a very clean and modern look. There is also a small cafe, Ban Dai Cafe, connected to the front lobby. A very pleasant place!

Just a neighborhood bathhouse. Bring your own towel and soap, none are available there. Get clean, take a dip in the bath (there's an electrified bath...) and go home. If you're staying at the Airbnb nearby, this is where you need to go unless you're the size of a Barbie Doll. 2017
