This isn’t a family friendly hotel. It’s what it is, a business hotel. No early check in unless you pay for it. Perks are the onsen and washing machine availability. Near by is Hakata station. I enjoy the breakfast. Only downside was negative experience with reception staff Hdamichi, the foreign trainee staff shadowing her was much better in communications than her combative attitude. A little omotenashi would be appreciated. The trainee offered a pair of Pokémon slippers for my child , that’s a human touch that is endearing.

You know those memes about how Japan's economy depends heavily on tourism but the people working in tourism despise tourist? Come experience that first hand here 🙃 The sheer audacity of the reception, if you dont speak Japanese. This is really an authentic experience of Japanese inflexibility enhanced with their famous bull stubbornness. You'll get nowhere with any of them. Seriously tho, if you aren't local, just stay somewhere else. They dont want you here. I regret staying here 🤧

The Hotel is about a 5min walk away from Hakata Station. This is a good location as Hakata Station is a hub for JR and Kyushu trains to reach other destinations for 1-day trips (Kumamoto, Beppu, Saga, Nagasaki). Furthermore, the Hotel is about 10-15min walk away from Canal City and other good places. The reception was very friendly and supportive! The room was big and the AC worked fine. The bed is hard and was just to my liking. The Onsen is open for public and usually very well visited during nighttime (I usually went around 10pm and it was always packed). The Onsen is great and big. I really loved the cold bath! The Hotel has many rooms but only 3 laundromats to wash your clothes. I have seen smaller Hotels with much more laundromats. The bathroom is a bit outdated and you have to close the door during hot showers, otherwise the fire alarm might go off.

I had a very negative experience with Tono at the front desk. The initial conversation was alright, but he only handed things to me with one hand, and used rough language. We attempted to check in at 12pm, and he let us know that guest check-in commenced at 3pm. We said that was fine, and went to get lunch. At 2pm, we were very tired from traveling, and decided to see if the room was ready. Understanding it was before 3, I can see his frustration. Tono became Irate and was yelling. He let me know that the room was not ready. I enquired further, to see if we can do an early check in. He said yes for 6000 yen. (less than 1 hour till the 3pm check in). After he became increasingly frustrated, we were going to leave the hotel, but he sent us up to the room. I don't know if he was having a very bad day, but that is no way to treat a customer. Other experiences at the hotel were nice, but the interaction with tono the front desk agent was very negative.

The room is very clean and comparatively bigger than typical Japan hotel room. It’s very cozy and quiet to stay. They also have indoor onsen and sauna, which is very nice. The staff is friendly and nice. It’s quite close to Hakata station, about 5 min walk from the correct exit.
