5件I had mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. Overall, I actually liked the hotel itself — the room was nice and the location was convenient. However, my experience with the service at the front desk left a very disappointing impression. On the second day of our stay, we chose not to request housekeeping because the room was still clean and we were only staying one more night before checking out. Because of that, we did not receive the daily bottled water that normally comes with housekeeping service. We arrived back at the hotel very late that night and didn’t have a chance to buy water outside. Considering the stay cost about $300 for two nights and we also paid an additional 1,600 JPY for amenities, asking for two extra bottles of water really shouldn’t be a big issue for the hotel. When we went to the front desk to politely ask for two bottles of water, the staff member named Y. Lee repeatedly asked us several times whether we had declined housekeeping. After we confirmed multiple times that we had not requested room cleaning, we simply asked if we could receive two additional bottles of water. Unfortunately, we were told that the hotel only provides two bottles per day and that we would have to pay extra for any additional bottles. This response and the way the situation was handled felt very disappointing. I have traveled and stayed in many hotels around the world, and I have never experienced a hotel refusing such a small request from a guest. Most hotels are happy to provide extra water, and sometimes they even offer more without guests needing to ask. It’s unfortunate because I actually liked this hotel. However, this experience with the service and customer care changed my impression completely. Because of this, I will not be returning to stay here again, and I would not recommend this hotel to friends, family, or anyone I know. In the end, we had to go outside late at night to buy water ourselves — all because of two bottles of water. If this is the level of customer service guests receive, especially from staff like Y. Lee, it’s truly disappointing. May I please have email to contact the company please?
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Vischio Kyoto by Granvia and were pleasantly surprised from the moment we stepped into our room. We booked a twin room and were genuinely impressed by how spacious it was - something quite rare for hotels in Japan. The layout was comfortable and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to relax after a full day of exploring. The hotel also has a public onsen, which is a great facility to have. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try it as it was consistently crowded in the evenings. There is also a coin laundry area, which is convenient for longer stays. However, it was a little frustrating that some guests left their laundry in the machines for more than 30 minutes after completion. It would be helpful if the hotel could implement a system to clear unattended laundry after a certain grace period, as we had to wait for others to retrieve their items before we could use the machines. Amenities were generous and branded by Pola, which was a nice touch. We also really enjoyed the guest lounge offering a variety of coffee, tea, and matcha. Location-wise, the hotel is superb - just about a 5-minute walk to Kyoto Station with easy access to buses. We mainly used the bus to get around Kyoto, and the convenience made sightseeing very smooth.
Second time in Kyoto and first time staying in Hotel Vischio. Stayed here for 4 nights in Feb 2026. Room was on the 7th floor and was totally quiet. Not pin drop silence but really good on the sound proofing. Unless the kid was shouting along the corridor, you can barely hear anything. Maybe a 3 -5 minutes walk to Kyoto train station. Service is top notch and my wife accidentally spilled a cup of coffee near the entrance and the service staff was there with towels within 30 seconds to clean it up. The lift's algorithm also worked perfectly. We never have to wait more than 1 minute. Stayed at Onyado Nono the first time and this the second time. Chose this this time round as it had an in house spa (same like Onyado Nono). Would suggest going to Onyado Nono if you are driving, in a big family, with a few kids but otherwise, Hotel Vischio is a really good choice.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms were impressively spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained — perfect for relaxing after a long day. The layout made the space feel open and comfortable, with plenty of room to unpack and unwind. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. I also appreciated the quiet ambiance and the convenient location close to the railway station which made goung around so easy and convenient . Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I’d hughly recommend it to everyone.
Just a 2 to 3-min walk from Kyoto Station. There’s a mall opposite the hotel. I kept commenting, “The lobby smells really nice!” every time I stepped into the lobby. The room is spacious and very clean. Lounge access with complimentary coffee and tea is available for guests, which is a nice touch. There are only four coin laundry machines for such a big hotel. We gave up and decided not to do our laundry there. We had to scan a QR code to check if they’re available, but for some reason it didn’t work on my phone and only worked on my partner’s. There’s a laundromat nearby I think, though we did not try it. Overall, it was a pretty pleasant experience.
