5件A good bathhouse which meets a standard. Great to visit if you like bathing.
It looked very good; roomy and well laid out. The key procedure is interesting; first put your shoes away and hand the key over at the reception. After paying for an hour you get another key for a locker with a bathrobe if you choose that option. Change and go upstairs if you wish to take a bath. Put your bathrobe in the locker and take the new key with you. That is were my (big) tattoo was noticed and I had to leave unfortunately; it looked very good and good looking friendly men around.
The public sauna is one of the most unique Japanese culture. Before entering a dry sauna, it's better to be prepared in a cold bath. It's cool as a cucumber. Then you enter the hot sauna, endure 12 mins, and indulge in a cold bath again. It's sick!
If you are looking for a spacious bath house with a large sauna and hammam, look no further. Everything is clean and functional. Staff is professional and helpful. You need to change into provided shorts and bathrobes and leave your stuff in a locker, walk past a rest area then walk up a flight of stairs, take it all off and use another locker, whose key conveniently fits in the locker wristband for the floor below (didn't grasp this at first). There is a hot bath, a really cold bath, a milky bath (great for skin and joints it is claimed), a hammam and some spots to chill. The place was busy but there was space. I only wish the rest area was a bit closer to the action, as I didn't feel like drying myself and using stairs after each stint in the sauna. If I am back in the area, I'll definitely try the massage.
I used it in the morning for 1 hour only and it cost about ¥1,500. The facilities were all clean, excellent, and staff was good too but didn’t have time to try everything. The locker is narrow and barely wide enough to hold my backpack. I wasted 10 minutes just trying to find everything. 1 hour is too short. Some say the high price eliminates the riff-raff but that’s part of the bath experience.
