仁王門湯

A tremendously fantastic local bath house that served the community of neighbours. It had even a sauna room for an extra ¥100 while the admission fee was only ¥500. The hot pools were basically hot enough to warm your body up. The cold pool cooled you down after hot tubs. Amazing bath house for anyone.

The baths were amazing and everything was very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly both times I went there. My new favorite bath house.

One of the best 'sentou' (public bathhouses, NOT hot spring) in Nagoya. The bath has 5 different tubs, a sauna for 100 yen, and cheap drinks by the exit. The entrance is 500 yen, and is well worth the price. You can get almost all amenities by the front.

Quite small but clean. There are about 5 tubs here but very very small. electric tub is available. The reason why Im only giving 1 star is that it smells a lot of chlorine. AND the guy in the front who collects money was looking at womens part of the sauna. While everyone is getting changed and we were naked. He sits in the middle of the sauna where the sauna is divided to 2 sections (men and women) and faces inwards. There was a glass window in the middle packed with cigarettes. But he moves few of them just enough to see the inside of the womens part of changingroom. I felt violated and disgusted. Didn't say anything to him because I don't speak japanese but couldn't just keep it to myself. I had to write a review about it here. Gross.

it's a very local place. Even though it's on the lively Osu district, and it's a Friday evening, the business is slow. The website is misleading, as it states that it provides towel, but actually only small towels are provided (no large towel, even if you'd like to pay). There's no shampoo or shower gel either. As I had already undressed and had only a small towel, I had to borrow them from other ladies, who were very kind though. All other bathers are senior local ladies who appear to know each other, which is a nice thing. The pools themselves can be enjoyable, and sauna is actually free. No outdoor pool. The water is not natural hot spring. Though it's inexpensive (420 yen), the same price even in Tokyo can get you into better equipped, natural hot spring houses. I did enjoy the bath after all, but for these reasons above, only 3 stars are given.
