5件The BEST spa in all of Tokyo! I came here with two friends and we all got 60–90 minute massages and facials. I also did the Chinese reflexology foot massage. The saunas and onsen are the perfect temperature. You truly feel transported to another world. From the moment you walk in, you’re given a tote bag for your belongings and a change of clothes (you can choose between a dress or pant-style pajamas for ladies). We were here on limited time and had a couple of hours, but easily could’ve spent the entire day here. The lounge areas are spacious, elegant, and peaceful. The bathrooms are very clean and fully stocked with complimentary amenities, including getting-ready vanities with great lighting, deluxe hair products, and hair dryers/tools. The massages include aromatherapy with your choice of lavender, grapefruit, eucalyptus, and other scents. From head to toe, the masseuses work every muscle and will get you right! During the Chinese reflexology session, she explained what each pressure point represents. She was able to tell me things about my body that only my doctors knew, and that’s when I was sold!! She was even able to tell that my friend drank a lot of sparkling drinks/water…it was crazy accurate. I also noticed smoother bowel movements and increased evenness in my skin and less blood pooling in the days after, surely from the lymphatic drainage, and my circulation felt so much better. We came here after a couple days of long flights, lots of walking, and snowboarding, and I can definitely say this was essential after all that. As far as food, the smoothie bar and juices are made fresh to order and are so fresh and healthy. The restaurant is amazing too. I still think about the chicken bowl and the plum wine👀 and it’s all nutritious. I think overall the focus of this spa is to refocus you and your body on true wellness and giving a reset from the outside world... and it truly does. It’s open 24 hours, and the entry fee gives you access to the entire building. Services are an additional cost, but everything is very affordable especially considering the top quality you receive. Truly an incredible experience from top to bottom. I cannot recommend this place enough! Also very foreigner friendly :).
A perfect place to have a ME TIME🥰 I love Thermae-Yu and go there often. It’s super relaxing ,so comfortable that you can easily fall asleep. There are lots of bath options like silky baths, carbonated baths, an open-air bath, lying baths, and saunas. They also have face masks for ladies and the experience ends nicely with a moisturizing lotion bath. Amenities are excellent and very convenient. They provide rental wears, towels, ReFa hair dryers, straighteners and skincare products, so you can come empty-handed. There are plenty of places to relax, plus a café, a good restaurant, massage chairs and sleeping areas so it’s easy to spend hours here. Tattoos are allowed as long as they’re covered, which is a big plus. If you want a chill place to relax in Shinjuku, I definitely recommend it.
1.) they have 7 onsen options for you to bathe and then a sauna and a cold bath. 2.) the free use of their amenities • inside clothes • towels • hair brush • tooth brush • hair ties, cotton buds, razor • blower • facial cleanser, creams, hair oil • shampoo, conditioner, body scrub & body wash (inside the shower and bathing area) 3.) the food isn't cheap but not too expensive either. their food is great and there are power outlets where you can charge your phone or laptops in their restaurant (if you order). 4.) there are sleeping areas where you can rest or take a nap (if you're waiting for your next bus / train, or just want to relax.) • there are massage chairs as well where you need to pay to use it. ( wristband charge ) • they also offer massages for a fee. you can check their posters or simply ask the staffs. • there's also a bar here where you can purchase non alcoholic beverages. - they let you borrow a thick and warm towel to use it as a blanket 5.) separate lockers • if you have luggages, you can store them separately with your own choice of passcode. • lockers for your clothes which can be opened by your RFID wristband. 6.) RFID wristbands • you tap it on their device when you want to purchase food in their restaurant, beverages, and pay them when you exit the premises. 7.) there are many toilets inside. all of them has a bidet. 8.) women's vanity area - they have one in the shower area and one in the changing room. - it is spacious and has nice lights. you can do your skin care / makeup or dry your hair here. - just note that they charge you for overnight fees between 12am - 9am (if i'm not mistaken.) overall, this is the best onsen place i've ever been to. it's quite affordable for a clean place you can relax to in shinjuku (also perfect if you're like me who's not a fan of the overwhelming crowd in shinjuku but wants to visit tokyo !) ++ they aren't really strict about tattoos! i only spent around ¥5000-6000 including my lunch and dinner for the day will definitely come back here again.
We visited this place near the end of our trip, and it couldn’t have been a better way to wrap things up. The facility was very well kept and clean, with a calm, peaceful atmosphere that instantly made us slow down and relax. Everything felt thoughtfully maintained, and the quiet setting made the experience feel restorative rather than rushed. It was the perfect, gentle way to end our Japan trip and leave on a really good note.
Let's be honest, half the people who use this facility are using it as a cheap-ish hostel. For that purpose (catching some quality shut-eye), it's just OK, not great. They oversell the tickets here, and by about midnight to 3am, people are swarming the entire place trying to find a bed/recliner to sleep on. And this place is BIG (7 total floors). But they still ran out of space. Upper floors are way too hot to fall asleep (80ish degrees F). And the bottom floors (B2) have way too many people there, so statistically you're going to definitely have at least 1 or 2 loud snorers that literally echo across the entire area. But 1 unforgivable thing is: The recliners really aren't that comfortable. From the pictures they look like fancy movie theater seats, but for anyone above 5ft10in, your legs are going to stick out already. Not sure why they didn't just purchase those instead of whatever these are. Food was GREAT here though. The restaurant felt high-end, with a big menu, and the food came out delicious and well cooked. That's probably the only saving grace of this place. Some tips: - No tats allowed (except on women). - Everyone must wear the provided pajamas in all co-ed areas. - You get 1 key for your shoe locker. 1 digital wristband for your main locker (after checking in), and an optional key for the bath lockers. - Your wristband is how you pay for food and everything else (a la carte massages, etc) at this facility. The entire bill of your stay is settled at the end. - The daypass is from 9am to midnight. You can add a nightpass that includes midnight to 9am. No re-entry allowed for either package.
