しまなみ温泉 喜助の湯

Such a great experience to soak my aching self after biking! When you enter, you will see no staff, but just put your shoes in a locker. Afterwards you turn left and you'll see a machine where you buy a ticket. I used my phone to translate and bought hot springs + towel set. I gave my ticket to the lovely young lady working who asked if I did the Shimanami Kaido. I showed her pics of me in my helmet and she kindly refunded towel money! After that it's standard onsen etiquette. There's a giant sauna, jet bath, electric bath(?), a very steamy jade bath, a walking bath (?), and a cold plunge bath. There's stones to walk on and other interesting things I didn't fully understand, but added to the adventure and magic! There's also a restaurant there and massage chairs etc. It was filled with locals of all ages. I felt very welcomed and had a great experience!

We stayed in Imabari Urban Hotel and bought tickets there for 700 yen each. Always nice to have discount! This is a big facility with wide variety of baths. In addition to traditional dry sauna, there is a fancy "Hell" dry sauna which blows dry wind from the wall several times each hour. Also got a recreation area where you can read manga from the most updated to the most classic, or just sit down and watch TV. Parfait only last til 11pm (if I remember correctly) so be sure to buy before it closes.

Beautiful ceramic mural inside and a lovely, clean mineral water bath from a hot geyser. There are sauna, steam rooms and even a skin beautifying room. A misty hot pool and and icy dip pool as well as a pool to wade and walk in. Also deck chairs, cubicle baths and showers. All amenities are provided but you must rent a towel or bring your own. A must visit if you do the shimanami kaido

The sauna itself is good, but I was shocked by the poor hygiene. Some people used hair dryers on private parts and entered the pool without showering after the sauna. This is unacceptable in a public facility. The management should strictly enforce hygiene rules to protect all guests.
