A pleasant surprise. We went to the Ainu Promotional Center first and, starving afterwards, found a cafeteria that happened to be inside the building. While eating we browsed on their offerings and found that they offerred private baths. It was a nice bath with an outdoor view of winter. It was a great first time experience for my wife and I am very thankful. Outdside the onsen is a 700 year old tree.

Friendly staff, great rental service (towels and yukatas are included for just 350 yen), and a really nice outdoor bath. Love it.

We used the hot springs during the day. This is one of the few remaining decent water hot springs in the greater Sapporo area. Although the facilities are older the water quality is good.

Fantastic location, facilities, staff, food, onsen, everything! We spent a day trip here during a weekday and it was fabulous. We rented the private onsen for 90 mins it's 3800 yen, which is great value. It also snowed the day we went and having lunch in the restaurant whilst snowflakes were falling was magical. The amenities as well as the relaxation room were great. We can't fault anything, from the staff trying to help us with all our queries, to the great onsen quality, amazing food and location, it was all above our expectations. There's also the Ainu cultural center across the road and there's a bus from Sapporo, as well as a free shuttle from the onsen to the subway station a few times a day, that was great since the snow was heavier by the time we left. If you have a day free, staying in Sapporo or nearby areas, and want to go somewhere peaceful to enjoy the restorative qualities of hot springs, this is it! We also had the shaved ices, which is amazing and played the claw machines and won some prizes. There's something for everyone!

Great service, amazing food and relaxing private onsen! Location is well cared for. We did not have to reserve, and we could go straight in. 90 minutes of pure hot spring bliss! There are massage services, but we only used the automatic massage chairs, and they were also amazing. So relaxed I fell asleep on the ride back into the city. (Important note for foreign visitors: all communication is done in Japanese, so you would definitely need Google translate for the menus and to make your orders clear. But it is certainly worth it for the experience!)
