5件How is it that I’ve flown through Haneda on repeated occasions and missed that there’s an onsen IN the airport?! OK… more like next door to the airport, but still!! Of course, it requires you to clear immigration and essentially leave the airport, which involves a couple form submissions I hadn’t thought to look up in advance. And yes… you have to take your clothes off - all of them! - for the baths, though like most onsen, its gender separate in the bathing areas. I read reports of watching planes take off from the outdoor pools. The glass in that area was mostly opaque, and I never saw a single plane, but that was of little consequence. Tried the sauna (with TV news blaring? Whaaaa??!!) and the steam room (Wowow!!), and the indoor bath with the jets was simply amazing. What a great way to refresh between long, international flights. Best onsen ever? No. A bit pricey, well geez, you’re in an airport! Would I choose Haneda over Narita just for the benefit of this perk? You bet! Traveler tip: You can check your bags with a human at the entrance to the hotel/spa, or you can walk around the corner and use the self serve lockers. Multi-lingual and paid with my credit card. 👍 Don’t know the cost comparison, but weary and jet lagged me was pleased not to have to speak to a human. 😉
I have used Tenku no Yu repeatedly throughout 2025, essentially once per Haneda transit cycle (5 times). It remains one of the most convenient airport onsen facilities anywhere in the world. For late-night arrivals, early-morning departures, or tight international transfers, it offers something very few airports globally can match: a proper bathing and reset facility directly connected to the terminal. That said, the experience has become increasingly hard to justify at its current pricing. The late-night surcharge is now extremely high for what is offered, and the sleeping area is not comfortable. Sound insulation is very poor, with constant noise from other guests and the facility itself, making real rest difficult. This is not a place to actually sleep if you are sensitive to noise or need genuine recovery. The bathing experience is also inconsistent. The water often feels lukewarm rather than deeply hot, which undercuts the primary reason many travelers use an onsen after a long flight. For the price point, the overall value feels diminished. It is also disappointing that even when staying at the adjacent Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport, access to Tenku no Yu still requires an additional fee. Given how closely the hotel and onsen are integrated, some level of included or discounted access would make more sense. Despite these criticisms, Tenku no Yu still excels at one thing: a fast, efficient reset. A shower, soak, and brief decompression between flights or before entering Tokyo is genuinely useful, and few airports anywhere offer an equivalent facility. In that context, it remains hard to dismiss entirely. In short: unbeatable convenience, increasingly questionable value. Excellent for a quick reset, but no longer comfortable or compelling enough for overnight rest or extended stays unless convenience clearly outweighs cost.
I got a body scrub here from En-san and she was so good. I got the 30 minute scrub, but it was so thorough and I felt like a whole new person afterwards. The general entry tickets to the baths are 2500 yen if you are a hotel guest. There's a few areas to hang out after your soak, including a quiet room where you can watch TV in individual chairs (but the speakers are built into the head rest of the seats so you can't hear the other guests' TV?!?). Overall I think it is an amazing and very effective way to relax before or after a flight.
Very expansive ‘Sento’ at the airport - best to store luggage at a locker first, then head here for multiple pools (multiple hot and cold temperatures, including ‘Iron’ water), outdoor pool, excellent sauna and steamroom. You can also rent pajamas for the outer lounge if you need to rest a bit on the reclining seats before you head to meetings after landing early in Haneda. A fantastic amenity at HND!
This is the place if you arrive in Haneda midnight and stuck until morning waiting for morning train. I was basically stranded in terminal 3 thinking I can sleep in any chair but it was freezing cold so I found this spa. But they have relaxation room so you can sleep! How cool is that?! Bonus point you can have a nice hot bath after long flight. And inside this spa, there's 24 hours restaurant with the city view. They provide everything. Spa clothing, toiletries, towels, you just need to bring your own body really. It's located on haneda airport garden, just walk until the end and you can find hotel & spa sign. But you cannot take your luggage with you so you can store luggage in the locker behind the information sign before entering the hotel gate. And just take the elevator to 12th floor. The price is 4,800JPY but twice the price between 1am-5am. Please visit this place because I will definitely do this again.
