Big miscommunication with the staff here. Very unaccommodating. Called to see if I could use the onsen with tattoos, they said yes. Got a taxi there and when I arrived they said no.

Location is walking distance to various places like Castle ruins, Kenrokuen Gardens, Naga-machi, Omicho market and others. Service was very good and even though they say they only hold luggage after checkout they held our luggage before the check in time of 15:00. Biggest issue with the place was the small room which was the smallest I’ve ever stayed in Japan. For one person it’s ok but not for two. 3 stars for a 3 star rated hotel.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Some of them spoke a bit English. Breakfast was very delicious, providing Asian and Western food. There was carpet in the room, that's the only thing I didn't like. Bathroom and sleeping room both small, but enough for me. Typical amenities were provided, including the always offered pyjama. The Onsen on top of the building was good and free for hotel guests. As I have some tattoos I put some plaster above to hide them, as Hotel policy says they may refuse people with tattoos. Many shopping opportunities close to the Hotel. Would definitely come again.

The room was very small, but other than that, lovely. AC wasn't working so it was too hot. You can't enter hot springs with a tattoo. There is a Starbucks-like cafe in the lobby which has decent coffee and nice sandwiches.

Unfortunate that most Apa hotels are better than this one. Very small rooms for the price. Customer service is below standard. Bathroom is small for the price and the hotel coffee shop refused to let us use a cup without explanation. Stay here if you are out of options. Two positives are the cleanliness of the room(very clean)and the location is great for shopping/near restaurants as well. There is quick access to the bus if you want to get out and explore
