HOTEL KUU KYOTO

I was extremely satisfied with my stay here. The location is perfect—only about a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station. The highlight was the magnificent view of Higashi Honganji Temple right in front of the hotel, which was truly breathtaking. ​The public bath (Onsen) facilities were excellent. I liked how the smaller and larger baths are rotated daily between men and women. The breakfast was delicious and prepared with great care. I had heard many compliments about the French toast, and after trying it myself, I completely understand why it's so popular! ​Above all, the staff's hospitality and service were outstanding. I would definitely love to stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.

This is a wonderful hotel. The location is fantastic with Kyoto station a short walk and local buses stopping not far from the hotel. The rooms are spacious, beds extremely comfortable and the view of the temple was stunning. The decor is great too and I loved walking along the calm entrance corridor after a day of sightseeing. The staff were lovely and friendly and we appreciated being able to check in early. A fabulous place to stay in Kyoto.

Jan 26 Stay. Phenomenal value. What a great location. 5 min walk from Kyoto train station, with Family Mart & Lawson 2 min away. Very friendly staff with front reception speaking excellent English. All their staff are so welcoming and lovely. Room does NOT have universal outlet so you’ll need an adapter or you can rent it from the front desk. Our room was spacious and the layout thoughtfully designed for multiple guests in a room. The shower is a sealed individual cubicle so trapping the heat and steam so you’re nice and toasty while showering. There is even a plastic corner seat inside for greater accessibility. The toilet is a separate cubicle with a top of the line bidet (gotta love Japan) and ventilation. The sink is in the small entryway with convenient electrical outlet and ample space for styling tools or shaver etc. Our king bed is comfortable but the pillows are small and floppy (only bad thing about our hotel). There is a communal microwave and laundry (¥300 for wash and they provide laundry pods, ¥100 per 30 mins dryer). Free separate onsen for men and women. Room has mini fridge, safe, mini kettle, and most importantly your own AC/heater unit (some hotels in Japan like APA have central heating and AC which can be miserable and stuffy). Overall extremely happy with the hotel. Have recommended it to our friends coming to Kyoto. Can’t wait to return to Kyoto and hope that we can stay here again.

Great hotel! Modern and clean facilities with onsen. Good room layouts and convenient with coin laundry + dryer machines available. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Location convenient to Kyoto station, just a short walk. Lastly - highly recommend the in-room massage! Super easy to book and they were very professional with good technique and pressure.

My family and I had the most wonderful stay at Hotel Kuu! This was my second time in Kyoto, and proved to be much better thanks to my experience at KUU. The rooms were spacious, centrally located, and offered amenities perfect for any stay— like the PERFECT gender specific onsen, complimentary Tour Bus, free travel necessities, and your own shrine + view at the entrance! It’s less than a 10 min walk from Kyoto station, and surrounded by plenty of great places to eat. The staff were very accommodating, and made sure my family were well taken care of and comfortable. It was a peaceful, tranquil stay. Will surely come back and stay at KUU for my next visit. Highly recommend!
