伊予の湯治場 喜助の湯

First time visiting this onsen for an afternoon soak. If you’re in Matsuyama and didn’t get to experience an onsen at Dogo Onsen but are staying near JR Matsuyama Station, this is a great and convenient alternative. The facility has a couple of restaurants inside, making it easy to grab a meal after your bath. There’s also a massage and spa area if you want extra pampering. The lobby has several co-ed spaces to relax or hang out with friends before or after soaking. On the women’s side, there’s an attic-style relaxation area with hammocks and small relaxation cubes. There are also plenty of vanity stations with mirrors and hairdryers. There are 10+ bath options, including outdoor baths. One is a herbal soak, and the steam room has a rotating “flavor of the month”—this month it’s orange 🍊. I personally enjoyed the outdoor hot stone room more than the indoor sauna, which is much hotter. They also offer a membership for 800 yen that gives a 150 yen discount per visit. Toiletries are fairly basic compared to some onsens in the Tokyo area at a similar price. Overall, a great neighborhood onsen. I’d definitely come back and might even get the membership.

I regret to say that someone was using the hair dryer on their groin. And although certainly not everyone, I also noticed that some of the older guests had poor manners, such as entering the bath without showering after the sauna.

If you come here hide your tattoos, they would not let me in. This feels like an outdated discrimination 😩 I went every day before with a jumper with no problem.

Enjoyed the different kinds of onsen with economy price from The Terminal Hotel living coupon for two nights, it opens till 2:00 am which is great! Milk machine there is awesome too. Also you may enjoy meal, comics and TV in the resting area, a really good place for relaxation, highly recommended.

Such a good place to go, especially if you’re waiting for a train or bus. There’s a pretty spacious onsen, a restaurant inside, and lots of places to relax after a nice bath. I wish I could have stayed longer! There’s also massage spots and karaoke in the same building!
