Cosy, yet excellent contemporary public bath~ Friendly staff, busy but has everything one might need for a visit* Genius idea to have a Coin Laundry next door, as it doubles as a housekeeping facility too! - Shoe locker follows an old styled, yet updated with their mascot wooden ‘key’ system (no charge) - Payment via cash with the ticket machine opposite shoe area / electronic means at reception (¥550?) - Be mindful that inner lockers (M / L) use a ¥100 coin return lock. So have some change before entering - Reception area boosts a comprehensive range of amenities, drinks, snacks and merch. One can get anything you might need before and after, if you decide to come spur of the moment Upon entering curtained locker area: a massage chair (¥), toilet (with fancy bidet that automatically raises seat when I entered), drinks machine (¥), 2x hair drying vanity (¥), sink, (manual) weighing machine, (M / L) lockers, Body drying corner greets you* There’s a tv and fans that ventilate this space. Going clockwise round the inside: Standing shower corner, giant pot of water, nano bubbles bath, silky bath, sleeping, jet, electric (only room for 1 each) baths; 3 rows of sitting showers (decent shampoo | conditioner | body wash in large bottles provided), and sauna (¥). Sauna is small, tucked away in right corner (3? Tiered). Additional charge (¥450?) and had a wait list when I came in. ‘Outdoor area’ beyond this, had an ‘indoor Open-air bath’ and ‘Air bath’ with Lounge | Regular plastic chairs & Wall fans to cool off. Didn’t manage to try sauna as was just happy to soak. Maybe next time. Went on a Friday night and there was a constant stream of bathers young and old. Mostly younger crowd and a few groups of friends. But everyone was considerate and mindful to take turns, if a bath / feature was popular. The shower head (try the row against the wall) and hair dryer were of a certain brand. One can even purchase them at a discounted rate @reception. The mist spray of the shower head was relaxing and cools you down gently~ Do try a drink at least after a nice soak. I had a long look at their goods offered, and did a mini spree before leaving. All in all, a great experience! Will try to come again before my trip ends. Definitely recommended, maybe just try visiting during a weekday afternoon to enjoy a less busy period. p/s: The staff did their best to help explain the fees and sauna usage. As I bumbled my way in with my broken japlish, one kindly came in to try informing me that the sauna has a wait list. I then whipped out a translator and replied it was ok then. He was most helpful and patient. Kudos to the team 🫡

Went here every week while living in Sugamo area! Best sento (public bath) in town (and it’s not even close). It’s an old school sento renovated to have every modern comfort. Great range of baths for such a compact area. Recommended for anyone, tourists/foreigners also. Personally i like the choice not to have a tv in the sauna, and I appreciate the quiet. As others have mentioned it does get busy on rush hour nights, but i never waited more than 20 mins or so, and usually you only have to wait if you want to use the sauna.

This sento is legit! Friendly locals, two +40F tubs with one being “outdoor” and the other having strong jets. The sauna is worth the extra charge. The cold plunge is freezing and the rest area outdoors is very good.

One of the better old-style public baths in northern Tokyo. Since it was remodeled two years ago it has become quite popular and can get crowded in the early evenings. You must pay extra and get an additional wristband to use the sauna. The post-bath drinking options are stellar.

Best public bath I got the chance to do in Japan. Everything is great, the downside is that it is often packed. The bath area has - 1 cold bath around 17°C - 1 lukewarm around 32°C with thin bubble - 1 white bath around 41°C - 1 bath with 2 jet bath and 1 electric bath around 40°C - 1 bath next to the outdoor space around 38°C - 1 outdoor Air bath which is an outdoor relax area that has water sprayed with a fan which is quite nice during summer Price for an adult is around 500JPY without Sauna, add more if 500 JPY if you want to use sauna. Very modern atmosphere that still hold atmosphere of a traditional sento, nice staff. Changing rooms are spacious and even have body driers which I have never seen in Japan. Common space is a bit small but warm and they have all commodities. A must go !
