Firstly, thank you to everyone before me which commented about the frequenting elderly women. It helped me consider more if I actually wanted to go, and I was glad to know the truth beforehand. I did end up going and asked the receptionist for any tips to not encounter them, and he told me: it might help to keep my hair wrapped in the privacy towel the whole time and make sure to shower really well before and between the bathes. I did this, and a few ladies did still approach me and were upset, but I didn’t know why, as I had followed the instructions. I later realized that even though it’s a public bath, they like to shower in their favorite spot with their friends..so they try to reserve a seat or make you move by putting a basket of shampoo, small towel, etc. in front of the mirror. After realizing, it was simply easier to move to another “shower station” and ignore their stares and comments. Despite that, I had a nice time at this bath. It was relaxing and clean and overall a pleasant experience. I would recommend it, but just know about them in advance and decide for yourself from there. I was walking by and I found this sento! Very clear instructions, you just have to take a ticket for a price of (600) with a towel and a entrance fee for the outdoor bath and sauna! This is the first time that I saw tv in the sauna! Watching japanese show amongst japanese felt so surreal! This sento offers 1 cold bath, and several hot ones with one being a electric bath! Also an outdoor bath and a sauna with a TV as I mentioned before! Oh and btw tattoos allowed! Very great experience, full of locals! Totally a must when you visit Kyoto and want a local sento!

A friend of mine recommended it and he knows I have tattoos wich can be an issue in Japan. This sento is amazing, is super affordable, clean and well organized. At reception they are super kind and the ladies using the sento are all very nice. You have different temperatures depending on the bath, you can rent towels if you need and shampoo and soap are included. If you have other amenities you may need bring them, I advise a sponge or something for exfoliating.

Fantastic public bath - potentially the best I found whilst staying in Kyoto. Entry is cheap at about 550¥ for adults, with it being both foreigner and tattoo friendly. The facilities are as good as they come, with: probably about a dozen showering stations; as well as 3 separate indoor hot bath, inc. Bubbles ;); an outdoor bath; cold plunge, that is actually a good cold temperature; and a sauna that can fit well over a dozen people at max capacity, with a TV too. Obviously if you are a foreigner, make sure you're aware of the rules and manners of using a Japanese bathhouse, but I definitely recommend going!

Had a pleasant experience at the sento. It is a bit busy with locals(predominantly the elderly). You will need to bring your own towel. Hair dryer is free to use. Has a Sakura scented bath. Shampoo and Body wash is provided .Water pressure and temperature is good.
