Facilities are very nice. But then they will kick you out for having a tattoo. Even if you’re very obviously not yakuza. Been to many onsen with no issues but not this one. Sad because otherwise the facilities are great.

Totally agree with the other 5 star reviews. Clean, modern with amazing facilities and very helpful staff. We walked from Ayashi Station (after a morning visit to Yamadera). A perfect way to end the day.

We went to this onsen after visiting Yamadera, on the way back to Sendai. It's a new, affordable and spacious bath facility with a restaurant, relaxation space, and many different kinds of baths. It is about a 25-minute walk (very easy, a straight line) from Ayashi station. There are also buses. It is a short walk away from Nishigaoka Hillside Mall, a fake-Amsterdam-looking shopping centre. There were a few indoor baths including a large hot carbonated bath with 電気風呂 seats, a smaller cold bath, a sauna, jet massage baths. Outside there was another hot bath, individual pot baths, a deep cool bath, and a shallow bath for lying down. The showers provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The lockers are large and fit my hiking bag and poles. You can pay a supplement to access the bedrock baths, massages, etc. The facility is well-organized and efficient: you scan the key from your shoe cubby to enter and to pay afterwards. This is a great bath and I would like to visit again if I return to Sendai.

I live nearby and honestly have been waiting for this onsen to open for the past 1 year. It surpassed all my expectations and I go at least once every 2 weeks. I would go more often if I could afford it! It's clean, got a great vibe and a great selection of pools to choose from. If you're in the area, just take an hour or so off your time (maybe visiting akiu) and come here, I think it surpasses any 日帰り温泉 there anyway.
