We had a great time at Korinkyo. The hotel's design is terrific: the rooms are clean but not cold, with big comfortable bathroom zones, and REAL PLANTS! We love a real plant. We stayed in a room facing the road, and didn't have any problems with noise. The hotel's location is ideal for exploring the city in a few different directions. While you're there, walk around the corner to Bar Kohaku for a nightcap -- you'll be delighted. Korinkyo's staff was wonderful -- kind & solicitous. Don't be shy about asking for help on the 2nd floor lounge -- we went down looking for assistance with a restaurant reservation over the phone & they made it easy.

Fantastic design-forward boutique hotel. Every detail has been thought through and the hotel delivers an unforgettable experience. Location is perfect for a short trip to Kanazawa.

Wish we had time to stay more nights. The hotel was exactly what we wanted for our short stay in Tokyo. We wanted luxury with an authentic experience. From the minute we left our shoes at the door, and sad down with our welcome drink while listening to traditional Japanese music, we knew that the hotel would fully meet our expectations.

This hotel has the BEST location and the staff are super friendly. The room was well set up, but the thing that really irritated us was the entry and bathroom lights were automatic. So if you have jet lag or need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, the bright lights turn on as you go near the entry and then into the toilet room. So if you’re with someone they will probably wake up from the bright lights. The tub and shower are also in the room, so if you’re traveling with friends there isn’t a ton of privacy. They have a large shower curtain, but you’re essentially bathing in the room. Another thing is, if you’re noise sensitive bring earplugs. It’s on a main road, and it’s not the traffic noise that’s loud, it’s the pedestrian crossing beeping that drove us crazy (we were on the top floor too!) and all the crows seem to roost in the surrounding buildings and they squawk all night long. The breakfast was also disappointing compared to the other hotel breakfasts we’ve had. They could do better, especially for vegetarians. But the location itself was the best part of this place so would totally recommend staying here.

Korinkyo accommodated our special requests of checking in early & arranging transport to the airport with ease. The hotel is well-situated near all the museums. The staff is kind & accommodating, even calling to make reservations for us or preparing hand-written letters to better communicate with us. The hotel is very quirky. With a unique concrete design done to a moderate level of specification. Lots of good treats & teas in the room. There are no coffee makers in the room, but you can pop down to the lounge on Floor 2 & the team will cheerfully prepare one for you. We were able to accommodate our family of 5 over two rooms in the hotel.
