5件Great day trip onsen! Surprised my wife after coming back to Nagano station from the snow monkeys and she loved it. Short taxi ride from the station and found there was a shuttle returning to Nagano station when we were leaving which was nice. No reservation, we walked in and were able to rent the private bath for an hour in addition to normal use of the onsen. For normal entry, private bath, and towels it came out to ¥4860. Great customer service that was patient and helpful with our English. Would like to try out staying in one of the rooms whenever we come back.
This was my first onsen experience and it was amazing! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful of course. The price for entry to the onsen and towel rental (face and body) was just over ¥900. There were outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, warm jetted tubs, cold tubs and a sauna. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Super kind staff at the front desk who explained everything to us in English! Incredible value, clean Onsen and changing rooms. Beautiful view from the outdoor Onsen and nice chill out area to eat/drink after or have a massage too!
Relaxing vibe, even on a warm day. The cool pool complements the warm. The gorge is beautiful and tranquil. Easy walk from hotel. Their English is good. Craft cola is a plus. Highly recommend.
Very good experience here this afternoon.. I was looking to shake off some soreness between long treks through the mountains, and this onsen proved to be just the right medicine. I took the free shuttle from the metropolitan hotel, soaked in the onsen, then had a massage, a little more soaking, and some lunch. A few points: there was an English speaking staff member at the front desk and that made everything very simple. You buy tickets from a machine for the different things that you want to do, like the admission, borrowing a towel, and massage. The onsen featured an outdoor pool that was really nice… looking off at the forested walls of the gorge, chairs set up so you can come out and cool off periodically… And the massage was very good also. Lunch upstairs was delicious and reasonably priced. A very good experience, very well run facility, & very kind and lovely staff… I would easily recommend to others
