湯～ゆランドあずま

This osento has all the retro charm I was hoping for. It’s very close to my dorm so I hope to go back regularly. It was ¥550 to enter. You start by locking your shoes up in the entrance, and then enter and pay. Men enter on the left and women on the right into separate changing and bathing areas. They provided basic soap and shampoo for free, but you can bring your own and they also have items available for purchase. I brought my own towel but I think you can rent them. Once you enter the changing area you can lock up your clothes for ¥100, returned to you when you unlock the locker. They have 3 hot pools and a cold plunge. I tried all of them and they were great! There was a simple water pool, a jacuzzi pool, and I think an iron water pool. There is also a sauna that I didn’t try. When I went at 6pm on a Thursday there were only 2 other women there. It was a great experience, my skin feels so soft, and I can’t wait to go again!

The attendant was helpful, his English is not too bad and the price is around 470 yen with small towel and soaps. Unlike some of the other sentos this one features a large painting but its not fuji san, i loved it. I found it impressive that there was a sauna aswel as 4 different baths, one of which is a cold Jacuzzi =-O. -15mins walk from ikebukuro station.

No soap, but has all the standard features of a Tokyo sento: beautiful painted mural, variety of baths, hairy old men, and a fridge full of chu-hi and milk at the front desk.

Decent sento, but they don't have soap inside. You need to ask for some at the front desk.
