The hotel is located on the back side of the station, so the area is fairly quiet since it’s not the main side. There aren’t many restaurants nearby, so if you want more dining options, you’ll need to go to the opposite side of the train tracks. Also, keep in mind that many restaurants around the station close around 9 p.m. The hotel serves complimentary ramen from around 9 p.m., as far as I remember, but there was a line when I checked.

I stayed one night after giving a presentation at Kanazawa University. The hotel is conveniently located a short distance from the train station and super easy to find. Check in was smooth and the staff were friendly. The room was comfortable, warm, and I loved the pajamas they provided. As soon as I got to my room, I headed to the hot spring. It was nice and relaxing on a snowy day. I had a good night’s sleep and headed for another hot spring in the morning. Breakfast was pretty good but maybe not worth the extra. It’s convenient, but better value might be found in places near the station. The hotel was reasonable, comfortable, convenient, and I’d stay here again on a return to Kanazawa. The Kanazawa Manten Hotel is located somewhat conveniently near Kanazawa train station. However, it is far away from the main downtown area of Kanazawa, making it difficult to get around especially if you are not staying long.

It’s common to have a large public bath and the option to include breakfast, but it’s surprising that you can enjoy a free late-night ramen meal at the ground-floor restaurant starting from 9:30 PM. Parking is available, and a humidifier is provided in the room. The room rates are also very reasonable.

One of the best things about this hotel is the location since it is just a short walk away from the main train and bus stations. It is somewhat far away from the main touristic attractions of the city but if you have a JR Pass there are two JR buses lines that will get you there. The breakfast, both Japanese and western can be improved upon. They have a curious approach to what western breakfast means. The room was very clean as well as the onsen. Furthermore, they offer you a wide variety of amenities at the front desk.
