5件I had a great experience staying at this hotel in Japan. The place was very clean, modern, and well organized, with a comfortable bed, good lighting, and convenient charging ports. The staff was polite and helpful, and the check-in process was quick and easy. The location was excellent, close to public transport, restaurants, and convenience stores. For the price, it offers amazing value, and I would definitely stay here again. 😄😄
Noisy as hell. Both nights I stayed and people seem to wait til the moment theyre supposed to be quiet to start making noise. Just the clientele they attract I guess? I would've confronted them but didnt want to not feel safe for the rest of my stay and the locker is the smallest I've ever seen and had no room for any valuables bigger than a phone. I realize there is only so much the staff can do about this, but there was no one to complain to both time when I tried. Ive never had such disrespectful tenants in a hostel in this country before. Lobby and stairwell to the 2nd floor reeks of cigarettes too. After a day there, I realized the whole dorm actually smells disgusting as well. I know its a room full of 30 men, but surely something can be done. Wifi is rubbish somehow even though every floor has its own. The pillows are terrible, seriously what even are these? One coat hanger and no where to hang a towel even tho u only get one. The only towel rack that even exists is IN THE SHOWER! Not even in the room just before the shower, so u have somewhere to hang it, or anywhere to put anything, clothes, toiletries, etc... like a little table or basket or ANYTHING. What is the point of the room if u have to just pick everything up off the floor. The towel rack IN THE SHOWER?! Who thought that was a good idea?!
Stay for around 10 days for winter. First impression is the reception and lobby area is not fragrant and feel not comfort. The major issue here is security, your luggage, shoes, personal belonging and others are in open space area. They provide only a small locker in your own lounge which is not pleasant to use. You will smell smoking most of the times in the entrance except morning time. Unluckily, some guest even smoke in bathroom which is non-smoking area in few of my stay night. Since this was a shared dormitory, pro tips, ask for avoid toilet area and lower bunk bed, so you can prevent noise during night or morning. The facilities is okay, the limitation is they provide only 1 towel for every 4 days and no toothbrush/toothpaste. The dorm is comfort and the cleaning service is always in notch, just the fan is useless and sound like a noise machine. Otherwise, everything is okay, around 500 yens for cleansing (300 yens for cleaning) and drying (100 yen per 30 min). The highlight here was the staff. They are friendly and helpful. Especially the girl in the reception, always carry a positive vibe and chill mood. Pleasant to hear her voice. Not the best location to public transport, but still acceptable (5-15 minutes walk) since it is a central hub for ueno station. I guess it is great value for price.
Staff is very nice and explain the rules and facility in details during check in. 5 minutes walk from subway station. Capsule room and shared washroom are clean which are highly appreciated. Capsule room equipped with USB socket, light and fan. Ventilation in the capsule room is okay The only downside is the limited luggage space and no luggage locker. You need to leave your luggage in a small luggage area near the entrance instead of putting it in a locker. Opening the luggage basically blocks the hallway every time, so packing would be a hassle. Overall, its a very good stay of a budget hostel in Tokyo.
Coming from my Italy trip, I have to say… Japan’s hostels still beat all the ones I stayed in before. I was a bit thrown off when I saw it was a 26-bed dorm, but the experience was actually quite pleasant. I really like the capsule setup — the bed is surprisingly comfy. Noise cancellation isn’t the best, but with earplugs you’ll be fine. There are a few toilets and shower rooms, and the whole bathroom area is pretty well soundproofed, which I appreciated. The only downside is the lack of luggage space. You pretty much have to leave your bags at the entrance or, in my case, near the balcony window. Opening my luggage basically blocked the walkway, so packing wasn’t the easiest. It’s also not super close to the station or convenience stores — a bit of a walk. But honestly, even with these small inconveniences, I’d still happily stay here again. I really enjoyed my stay
