5件A nice sento. Owners are quite nice and friendly. The baths are hot and perfect. One of them has some type of soaking herbs or something, very nice. Lots of jets, perfect for relaxing. Was a bit crowded but what can you do about it?
Located in a calmer area near busy Shinjuku district, it will allow you to have a break during the day. Compared to other baths I'd been to, the temperature of the water was just right (not too as in some baths I went to before). You will also find a cold bath at the beginning before going into the hot baths, and can have access to sauna for a supplement. You can be given a towel if you don't have yours. Just make sure you bring a 100¥ coin to lock your belongings in the locker. Very convenient and relaxing place.
I love to go to sentos to relax... but I walked into the sento today, and it was packed. I definitely thought it was going to be the least relaxing sento experience I'd ever had. But despite being busy, it was really nice! The paintings, rather than of fuji as usual, were of nearby locations, the sakura park and a shrine. They were lovely! The cold bath was a lovely temperature, though I wish there was one bath that was hotter than the warm baths that were there... the outside bath was fantastic, and smelled nice too!
This onsen has very good facilities. Cold, hot and semi-outdoor bath are available. They have sauna also. If you bring a charger you can charge your phone inside your locker. Price is JPY 560 +20 if you want a small towel.
Simple but good hot spring (onsen). Besides that the price is relatively cheap in the Shinjuku area, Tokyo. Not too crowded and the place is clean. There are more old people than young people inside. Onsen entry fee is 480 yen and towel rental is 10 yen. For shampoo and bath soap are provided. There are many ofuro including dotenburo. There is also an ofuro with the power of the water current which feels very comfortable like being massaged. So satisfying. Unfortunately, access to this place is a bit far if you walk from Higashi Shinjuku Station for about 12 minutes.
