5件Times Spa Resta, Ikebukuro: A Must-Visit Urban Oasis! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Times Spa Resta in Ikebukuro, and I can confidently say it was a wonderful experience that offers incredible value for money. This place is an urban oasis that seriously rivals some of the top-tier onsen/spa facilities I've experienced, even those in Bangkok. Facilities and Service The facility standards are excellent, and they offer a comprehensive range of amenities. The variety of baths is complete, with five different soaking pools and a sauna. The atmosphere throughout the onsen area is really pleasant. Beyond the baths, the spa services and food/beverage options are all conveniently available and high-quality, making it an all-inclusive and comfortable visit. Cost and Hours The price point is very reasonable, offering great value for the experience. The cost is approximately 3,800 JPY for unlimited time, which is a steal for this level of service. The operating hours are very generous, catering to both day and late-night visitors: • Most Days: 11:00 AM to 8:30 AM the following morning. • Sundays: Closes earlier at 10:30 PM. *Please double-check the current schedule before your visit. Important Cultural Notes As with most Japanese onsen, it's essential to respect the local customs: 1. No Tattoos: Please note that individuals with tattoos are typically not permitted to enter. 2. Japanese Onsen Culture: I highly recommend doing a bit of research on Japanese bathing etiquette beforehand, especially when sharing a space with others. 3. No Clothing in the Onsen: The soaking zones are strictly separated by gender, and no swimwear or clothing is permitted in the onsen area itself. The Entry Process The check-in process is very smooth and contributes to the relaxed atmosphere: 1. Shoe Locker: Upon entry, you remove your shoes and place them in a personal locker, for which you receive a key. 2. Check-in: You then approach the staff to request services. 3. Wristband: You will be given a wristband, which serves as your key to your main locker and is also used to charge any services (like food or drinks) during your stay. Overall, Times Spa Resta provides a premium, relaxing, and highly convenient onsen experience right in the middle of Ikebukuro. I look forward to my next visit
Overall a nice place for spa and massage. Would love to see more outdoor pool types. The lunch was good has healthy choice, but the Nagoya style maze soba could be better, the massage service was good. Mizu buro was a little too cold, was about 15.5 degrees.
Went in Jan of 2023 Great sento near Sunshine City. English friendly. I would recommend reading up on Japanese bathing culture and etiquette before coming. Even though I brought many of my own items, It has all of the amenities you would need: towels, shampoo, conditioner, cleaning oil, moisturizer, and hair dryers. All of the indoor pools and sauna were lovely but I particularly enjoyed the outdoor one.
Very nice place to live and relax. They have amazing onsen which includes many hot bath, Jacuzzi, Sauna and others. Moreover it is very convenient. I can not add pictures of onsen but the reception pics are available.
The ultimate relaxation hub. Included in the 2,750 yen entry fee is a pack of comfy pajamas, a pair of socks and 3 towels and access to a personal locker and the bath area (2 warm indoor baths, 2 warm outdoor baths, an ice bath, a sauna, a cold water bucket shower). Note the baths are not onsen. Some of the baths have adjustable water pressure devices to give yourself a back massage under water. The sauna is fantastic, there’s a TV inside so you can watch MMA and feel super manly while inside. Free toothbrushes, razors and scrubbing towels are available inside the baths. Foot, body and head massages, dry and with oil, Korean scrubbing, Ayurvedic treatments (e.g. shirodhara) are available for an additional cost (60 min shiatsu body massage was 7,000 yen). There is a comfort lounge, relaxation / sleeping space (includes a TV set and adjustable lounging / sleeping chairs) and restaurant for well priced lunch / dinner (gyu tongue, tonkatsu, soups, sake, ice cream, pancakes etc). Staying overnight is possible for 500 yen per hour past midnight (max 2,500 yen). The space spans 3 floors — 10F is where the restaurant, massage hubs, relaxation / sleeping space and comfort lounge are. 11F is the men’s baths and reception area. 12F is the women’s baths. The only downside, which is mostly out of the control of this establishment, is the snorers in the relaxation / sleeping space. I nearly flung my soft towel pack at one of them, but I think the most ethical and effective response is to execute them on the spot.
