おぶせ温泉 穴観音の湯

Its a natural hot spring and has strong sulphur smell but that is what we like because it helps me relax more after a long weekend of ski/snowboarding. It also has a open air onsen where you can see the sky clearly and lively view of the city/mountains especially if its sunset. It is a bit crowded during weekends and sometimes have to wait for shower It also has a massage service near reception if you are interested.

Small sulfuric onsen, very hot steam room, no ice bath, fast wifi and a restaurant upstairs

Tattoos are not allowed at this onsen. They have many signs at the facility saying that people with tattoos are not welcome here.

The hot spring itself is a true gem, boasting soothing waters that melted away the stress of daily life. The picturesque surroundings added to the overall charm, making it a perfect escape.

This onsen has a great view! You do have to stand outside of the water to see it well, but even in the winter with snow all around I was warm enough after a dip in the onsen to get out and look around for a while. I don't believe there is a private onsen here (although I'm not positive), but the public was only 600 yen. I doubt this will help anyone, but we went on New Year's Eve, and they were only open until 6PM on that day.
