5件Sun Marine Nagano is a clean, friendly, and relaxing spot for all ages. You’ll find a wave pool, Olympic-size pool, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam, water slide, kids’ play area, and a great fitness room with modern equipment. A perfect place to unwind and have fun!
The new facility is very clean and beautiful. The fee is 1,200 yen for adults, which may seem a little high for a public facility, but considering the facilities available, it may be reasonable. From 6:00 p.m., the admission fee is half price. Perhaps because I visited on a sweltering Sunday afternoon, it was quite crowded with a 3-hour usage limit. The leisure pools were packed with people, and the water seemed slightly cloudy. On the other hand, the 25-metre pool was empty, and I was able to enjoy walking or swimming lightly at a leisurely pace. There is also a wave pool, a rotating pool, a jacuzzi bath, and a water slide. Credit cards and PayPay are accepted.
Great place to go during weekday when almost nobody is here. I lost count of the times my son rode the slide as there was no line and most of time just him. I wish they did the wave pool more often as we were there 3 hours and only got it once. Onsen upstairs is nice and for those with tattoos they dont make you cover up.
Typical Japanese municipal leisure pool built next to a garbage incinerator to use the waste heat. You see them in most provincial cities. Matsumoto's is called Laala Matsumoto. This one, Sun Marine Nagano, is notably for being very new, nice and bright inside, and a bit expensive to get in, 50% more than Laala and a common complaint in the Japanese reviews of here, especially as it was cheaper pre-refurb. Once inside, there is a pretty fast slider you ride on floats, tandem floats included, with some trippy multicoloured stripes inside as you whizz past. The wave pool doesn't have big waves like Laala but has massed sprinklers above it, so you get an unusual waves-and-tropical-rainstorm combo that I really liked. My daughter was probably a few cm short for the slider, but the staff let her on anyway. Overzealous staff can be problem at Japanese pools but not here. You still get the 10 minutes out every hour, but that is Japan for you. If you pay the high entrance on a crowded day, I can imagine walking away unhappy. We went on a weekday during term time and it was deserted. We walked onto the slider and didn't bump into anyone in the wave pool. In that state, it's a lot of fun and good value for money.
Children will love it. Play with water all season. Heated water use recycle energy from incenerator. Also recycle centre inisiated by this place help reduce waste.
